How ChoralVia Works

  • COME ON YOUR OWN

Join as an individual singer and become part of a larger international ensemble. You will receive the repertoire, rehearsal information, travel details, and everything you need to prepare for the journey.

  • BRING A GROUP

Bring a section, a group of friends, or several singers from your choir. Your group keeps its own identity while becoming part of the larger ChoralVia ensemble.

  • BRING YOUR CHOIR

Church choirs, school programs, community choruses, and other ensembles can participate together without having to organize an international tour on their own.

Each journey is developed around a destination, repertoire, and performance concept. ChoralVia provides the artistic leadership and brings the participating singers together, while professional travel arrangements are coordinated in partnership with Music Celebrations International.

What makes a ChoralVia journey different?

What makes ChoralVia different is that you do not have to bring an entire choir to have an international choral experience.

Most choral tours begin with an established ensemble that decides to travel. ChoralVia works in the opposite direction: we create the international musical opportunity first, then bring together individual singers, small groups, and established choirs to form one exceptional ensemble for that journey.

And it is not simply group travel with a concert added. Each ChoralVia journey is built around:

  • Purposeful repertoire chosen for the destination and artistic concept.

  • Serious musical preparation before departure so the combined ensemble arrives ready to make excellent music.

  • Meaningful performances in places that contribute to the experience.

  • A larger musical community formed from singers who might never otherwise have the opportunity to perform together.

  • Cultural discovery that connects the music to the places we visit.

  • Professional travel planning through Music Celebrations International, allowing ChoralVia to concentrate on the artistic experience and the singers.

More than a choir tour. A chorus created for the journey.

ChoralVia creates international performance opportunities first—and then brings the singers together. Come on your own, bring a few singers, or bring your entire choir. Through shared repertoire, preparation, performance, and travel, we become one ensemble for an extraordinary musical experience.

Singers Travel. So Do the People Who Love Them.

ChoralVia journeys are created around music, but they are designed to be shared. Spouses, partners, family members, friends, and other non-singing travelers are welcome to join the experience.

While singers rehearse and perform, traveling companions share the destinations, cultural experiences, meals, excursions, and much of the journey alongside the ensemble.

The result is more than a concert tour—it is a shared experience for an entire community of travelers.

“My spouse doesn't sing. Does that mean I have to travel without them?”

NO, bring them with you!

Artistic Leadership

Don Scott Carpenter

ChoralVia was founded by conductor and composer Don Scott Carpenter from a simple idea: singers should not need to belong to a large touring organization to experience the extraordinary opportunity of making music internationally.

Working with choruses and musical organizations throughout Northern California, Don Scott has seen firsthand how many excellent singers—and even entire small ensembles—would love to perform abroad but cannot realistically create an international tour on their own.

ChoralVia brings those singers together.

As Artistic Director, Don Scott develops each journey's musical concept, selects repertoire, prepares and conducts the combined ensemble, and works with participating singers and directors to create a rewarding musical experience from the first rehearsal through the final performance.

The goal is simple: excellent music, meaningful places, and opportunities that become possible when we come together.

Professional Travel Planning

ChoralVia leads the music.

Music Celebrations International manages the journey.

Creating an exceptional international choral experience requires both strong artistic leadership and experienced travel planning. ChoralVia works in partnership with Music Celebrations International (MCI) to bring those two areas together.

ChoralVia develops the artistic vision for each journey—repertoire, musical preparation, ensemble building, rehearsals, and performances. MCI coordinates the travel components, including transportation, accommodations, sightseeing, local arrangements, and other tour logistics.

For singers, ensembles, and traveling companions, that means the experience is supported from both sides: thoughtful musical leadership and professional international travel planning.

Together, ChoralVia and MCI make it possible for participants to focus on what matters most: making music, discovering remarkable places, and sharing an unforgettable journey.
